Stonecarver Collene Karcher has over 20 years of experience in the art of carving stone. Her background includes study at the Rhode Island School of Design & in Italy. She received a bachelor of arts degree while apprenticing under stonecarver George Wagner. Her background also includes restoration work on the Michigan & Ohio state capital buildings. One of only a handful of stonecarvers in the U.S. still practicing handcut letters in stone, she discontinued exhibiting in art shows & galleries  in 1994 while opening her studio to the public. In 2011 she was accepted into the Southern Highland Craft Guild.
